Doug Hutchins Honored at RISMedia’s 2019 Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner
Event Was Held May 16 at Prestigious National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
RISMedia, publisher of Real Estate magazine, recently honored Doug Hutchins, Broker Associate with Kentwood Real Estate, in its “Crusaders” category of Real Estate Newsmakers, during an awards ceremony held on May 16 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., held during the National Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo taking place that week.
RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers recognitions, now in its second year, are designed to honor those individuals who made headlines for their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry and the communities and consumers they serve.
This year’s event hosted more than 225 of the nation’s leading real estate professionals during its Real Estate Newsmakers Reception & Dinner, an invitation-only event. Newsmakers were honored in the following categories: Influencers, Trailblazers, Futurists, Achievers, Crusaders, Inspirations, Luminaries and Trendsetters.
The Crusaders category honors “the champions of a better way.” RISMedia’s Crusaders are the real estate professionals with a passion for a cause greater than themselves. From equal rights, to Realtor® safety, to disaster recovery, to children’s and women’s causes, to local charitable community efforts, and so much more, RISMedia Crusaders are honored for their efforts to improve the world around them.
Doug is an advocate for Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries, an adoption and orphan care agency with care programs in Kenya, Nepal, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. He currently serves as Chairman of the board of directors and donates a portion of each closing’s proceeds to the charity. In 2018, he embarked on a 12-day mission to Nepal, when he visited with nine children in two Hope’s Promise homes. “It was a thrill to see how the children interacted with each other and how they truly were part of a family. These children are having so much more than their basic needs met.
